 NFF Pay Tribute To Super Eagles Defender Adefemi On Sixth Anniversary Of His Death The Nigeria Football Federation have paid tribute to former Nigeria international Adefemi Olubayo on the sixth anniversary of his death.

The versatile defender tragically lost his life on April 18, 2011 in a car crash in Kavala, Greece as he was traveling to Nigeria to arrange his wedding to Folashade Adeshina.

''Today we remember late Olubayo Adefemi who died on this day in 2011. May his soul continue to rest in peace,'' the NFF stated via their official Twitter account.

Adefemi was not wearing a seat-belt when the accident happened and it might have cost him his life, he was thrown outside the car and succumbed to head injuries suffered.

He came to international prominence in 2005 when he helped the Flying Eagles qualify for the final of the Fifa U20 World Cup, and was a member of the Dream Team that also lost again to an Argentinian side that included Messi in the gold medal match of Beijing 2008.

Bayo represented teams in France, Austria, Israel, Romania and Greece.
