Ex-Chelsea Striker Weah Watches On As Akinola Nets Game-Winner For USA In WCQToronto FC starlet Ayo Akinola scored for the second game running as United States U17s sealed a historic 4-3 win over Mexico in their second game of the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.

The win was the first time United States will beat Mexico in the World Cup qualifiers at this level and ended their 25-game unbeaten run in the tourney.

As Mexico desperately searched for an equalizer, Akinola finished off a brilliant counter attack move, to give the Americans a 4-2 lead in the 84th minute, before an own goal in the first minute of stoppage time settled the outcome of the contest.

The 17-year-old was the star of the show when the Americans thrashed Jamaica 5-0 in their opener after scoring a brace and providing a helper.

In the race for the tournament Golden Boot award, Ayo Akinola is the joint-top scorer along with teammate Josh Sargent and Honduras ace Carlos Mejia.

1995 FIFA World Player of the Year and former Chelsea superstar George Weah was among the important guests at the Estadio Maracana de Panama on Wednesday.

Weah came to watch his son, PSG striker Timothy Weah, who came off the bench in the 75th minute.
