Super Eagle Kayode Remains In The Limelight, But A Huge Doubt For Corsica Friendly
Published: May 14, 2017
Olanrewaju Kayode continued his rich vein of form after netting a brace for Austria Vienna in their 3-0 thrashing of SV Ried on game week 33 in the Austrian Bundesliga on Saturday.
The Nigeria national-teamer's goals against SV Ried took his tally for the season to 23 goals in all competitions, 16 of them coming in the league, 5 in Europe and 2 in the OFB Cup.
Kayode is the joint-top scorer in the Austrian top-flight along with Deni Alar, but has insisted that he is not thinking about overtaking the Sturm Graz star.
With the Austrian Bundesliga set to conclude on the 28th of May and the capital team having crucial games, Kayode is unlikely to train with the Nigeria squad in France before the friendly against Corsica.
The game against the Islanders is not on Fifa's international match calendar and clubs cannot be arm-twisted to release invited players.
