Ndidi Honoured To Beat England Internationals To Leicester Young Player Of The Season Award
Published: May 16, 2017
Wilfred Ndidi is delighted to win Leicester City's Young Player of the Season award for the 2016-2017 campaign, beating some of the outstanding talents in the Premier League in the process.
Two England U21 internationals Demarai Gray and Ben Chilwell were pipped to the award by the Super Eagles rising star, and he has admitted that they missed out on the accolade due to their limited playing opportunities.
''I feel really happy and I am honoured to win this,'' Ndidi told Leicester City TV.
''Demarai Gray and Ben Chilwell are great players. I never really expected to get the award because of the kind of players they are.
''I just feel if they had more chances to play they would have gotten this.''
Ndidi joined Leicester City on a five-and-a-half-year deal from Racing Genk in the January transfer window.
