Leicester City YPOTY Ndidi Named In Alternative Premier League Team Of The Season
Published: May 20, 2017
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been named in the alternative Premier League Team of the Season by The Sun columnist Danny Higginbotham.
Higginbotham believes Ndidi is one of the unsung heroes that played a key role in helping Leicester City avoid the drop.
''It was very difficult for Leicester to replace N’Golo Kante — but Ndidi has done a fine job,'' wrote Higginbotham.
''He has grown in stature as the season has gone on. He allows the back four to sit deep by getting in between midfield and defence.
This lets the Foxes soak up pressure and then counter at pace.''
The Nigeria international registered two goals and one assist in 16 Premier League appearances in his first season in England, having joined the Foxes from Racing Genk in the January transfer window.
