Exclusive: Nigeria U17 Trainee Agrees Scholarship Deal With AFC WimbledonAllnigeriasoccer.com understands that ex-Golden Eaglets trainee Edward Ogbebor-Onaiwu has ended speculation about his future after accepting a scholarship deal from League One club AFC Wimbledon.

The goalkeeper was offered the new deal in March and his agent had been thrashing out terms with The Dons before he finally accepted to sign the contract.

Ogbebor-Onaiwu joined AFC Wimbledon in October 2016 and made his debut for the U18 squad the following month in a 3-0 win over Gillingham, where he played for 90 minutes and posted a shutout.

The 16-year-old is expected to be the first choice goalkeeper for the U18s in the 2017-2018 campaign while trying to compete for a place in the U23 team.

A product of the academy teams of Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic, he trained with the Nigeria U17 national team in 2016.
