Nigeria World Cup Winner Not Offered New Deal By Chelsea
Published: May 23, 2017
English Premier League champions Chelsea have parted company with attacking midfielder Habib Makanjuola.
The status of the former Nigeria U17 international at the Stamford Bridge outfit had been covered in mist, but a Chelsea youth-team expert has revealed that he has not been offered a new contract.
''Yeah, he was with the club as a schoolboy, won some skills competition in Nigeria. Didn't get a scholarship,'' Chelsea Youth tweeted.
''Last I heard he was with a local youth club in Birmingham.''
Makanjuola was part of the Golden Eaglets squad at the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, and played their first group match against Mexico.
