Leicester's Musa Grabs The Headlines, Arsenal's Iwobi Bags Assists, Ten Players Debut As Nigeria Thrash Togo
Published: June 01, 2017
Premier League duo Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho registered their names on the scoresheet as Nigeria completed their training camp in France with a 3-0 thrashing of West African neighbors Togo on Thursday evening in Paris.
Gernot Rohr's side effectively sealed the win after a devastating first twenty seven minutes which saw them race into a 3-0 lead.
Leicester City star Musa opened the scoring after three minutes, tucking away the rebound after the Sparrow Hawks goalkeeper Alassani spilled Iwobi's cross along his path.
In the 17th minute, Nigeria doubled their lead when Musa got his brace, with Iwobi providing the assist.
Ten minutes later, it was 3-0. City's Iheanacho netted for the fifth consecutive away game in a Nigeria jersey when he tapped in off an assist by Etebo.
Wolfsburg's Victor Osimhen came off the bench at the start of the second half, replacing Musa, and became the first Nigerian player born in 1998 to play for the senior national team.
Rohr also handed debuts to Tyronne Ebuehi, Henry Onyekuru, Uche Agbo, Dele Alampasu, Sikiru Olatunbosu, Alhassan Ibrahim and Stephen Odey in the second half.
