Published: June 02, 2017
Two of Africa's most talented youngsters Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho have spoken of their happiness in the wake of the Super Eagles 3-0 hammering of Togo in an international friendly on Thursday evening.
The Arsenal and Manchester City wonderkids played key roles in the big win, with Iwobi providing two assists and Iheanacho adding more gloss to the scoreline before the half-hour mark.
The victory against the Sparrow Hawks was Nigeria's biggest win in the last four years, equaling their 3-0 rout of Cameroon in a friendly staged in Belgium in October 2015.
Alex Iwobi tweeted : ''Delighted With The Win Today, Team Put In A Good Performance. Happy To Contribute With 2 Assists 🤙🏾🇳🇬 #SuperEagles.''
City number 72 Iheanacho added : ''Starting the month with a win, great performance from the young #supereagles we keep working hard to get better #SoarSuperEagles #ki72.''
The Super Eagles used the friendlies against Corsica and Togo to prepare for next Saturday's African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo.
