Man City Tell Iheanacho He's Surplus To Requirements, West Ham In Talks With Agent
Published: June 03, 2017
The future of Africa's Most Promising Talent, Kelechi Iheanacho is not at Manchester City, with manager Pep Guardiola informing the Nigeria international he's surplus to requirements ahead of pre-season training.
Despite being linked with a move to a couple of big teams abroad like Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, West Ham are the early frontrunners to secure the striker's signature, having opened talks with his intermediary.
''Kelechi did not travel to Manchester during the Super Eagles training camp to hand in a transfer request, already he has been told he is not in Guardiola's plans for next season,'' a top source close to Iheanacho told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''City are still studying all offers but will only accept a deal from any club that agrees with their buy-back clause.
''His agents are in talks with West Ham to come to some sort of a deal.''
It was a difficult season for Iheanacho, with the Nigerian making only five Premier League starts, whereas he played seven games from the beginning in his first full season as a Manchester City player.
