Five players of Nigerian descent lined up for the Young Lions in the showpiece game in South Korea : Dominic Solanke, Fikayo Tomori, Josh Onomah, Sheyi Ojo and Ademola Lookman.

The sixth player that made the roster, Liverpool's Ovie Ejaria, was an unused substitute, and the youngsters have all taken to social media to express their joy after beating the South American opponents.

Liverpool-bound striker Solanke was handed the Golden Ball award for the player of the tournament, an award previously won by Diego Maradona, Adriano, Lionel Messi, Aguero and Paul Pogba.
