Chelsea Linked Nigerian Wonderkid Kelechi, Dubbed The New Mikel, In Talks With Lazio
Published: June 12, 2017
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Houston Dynamo talent Kelechi Onyewuenyi has been offered to Italian Serie A club Lazio ahead of the opening of the transfer window.
English FA licensed intermediary Shazad Yaqoob claims to be in talks with the Biancocelesti over the signing of the central midfielder, who has been labelled the new Obi Mikel by his minders.
Kelechi had been linked with Chelsea few months ago, but the Premier League champions said they will continue monitoring his performances in America rather than invite him to Stamford Bridge, where he'll be observed.
The 18-year-old is courting interest from Norwegian and Swedish clubs, but wants to start his professional career in a major European League.
He was born in Texas to Nigerian parents.
