Liverpool-Bound Golden Ball Winner Ignored By Chelsea After Heroics At World Cup
Published: June 13, 2017
England U20 international Dominic Solanke was given the cold shoulder by Premier League champions Chelsea despite helping the Young Lions win the World Cup for the first time in their history on Sunday.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has analyzed Chelsea's official Twitter account before and after the showpiece game against Venezuela, the England number ten did not get a mention and his tweets were never retweeted by the club.
On the day of the final, Chelsea posted : ''Good luck to our Chelsea youngsters involved in today's Under-20s World Cup final! 🦁 ''.
Shortly after the final against the South Americans, Chelsea retweeted a post by Fikayo Tomori, adding : ''Congrats, Fikayo! 👏🏆''
On Monday, the Blues tweeted : ''ICYMI - Jake Clarke-Salter and Fikayo Tomori both featured as England beat Venezuela to lift the Under-20 World Cup!''
Solanke has agreed personal terms with Liverpool with the deal set to be completed on July 1, but there are suggestions that the striker was illegally approached by the Reds while still under contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
He joined Chelsea thirteen years ago and would have remained on the books of the club beyond this summer if he had signed the new deal he was offered.
