Vitesse In Talks With Chelsea Over Signing Of Newcastle, Brighton Target Abraham
Published: June 15, 2017
Dutch Eredivisie club Vitesse Arnhem are pushing to sign the talented Chelsea striker of Nigerian descent Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The authoritative Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf is reporting that Vitesse are in search for a striker to replace Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who moved to Basel this summer, and have targeted Abraham.
Vitesse have an excellent relationship with Chelsea, with the likes of Mukhtar Ali, Lewis Baker, Matt Miazga and Nathan spending last season on loan at Arnhem, and are confident of sealing a deal for Tammy Abraham.
"With Chelsea, we are working together with great pleasure, we have made our wishes known and are fully conversant," explains Vitesse general director Joost de Wit.
"It is clear that we want a strong, wide selection next season, also with a view to the European matches."
Premier League newcomers Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove are hoping to sign Abraham, and he will be watched by several teams not limited to Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Feyenoord, Hertha Berlin, PSV, Marseille and Galatasaray at the U21 Euros.
