Official : Watford Loan Out Africa's Top U21 Tackler Uche To Standard Liege
Published: July 11, 2017
Belgian First Division A team Standard Liege have announced the loan signing of Watford's Nigeria international Uche Agbo, subject to a traditional medical.
The future of the defensive midfielder had been the subject of discussion in the past few weeks, following the relegation of Granada from La Liga at the end of the 2016-17 season.
Standard Liege sporting director Olivier Renard told the club's official website : ''Uche is a young midfielder that plays a lot of games and has good ball-winning ability.
''A major part of last season he was playing in the Spanish league. He is ready for a new challenge and will offer more options for our midfield''.
Just last month, Uche was ranked among the top four Under 21 players with the most tackles in Europe's top five leagues, and he was rated the best in Africa.
