Revealed: Standard Liege Wanted Watford's Uche Permanently But Failed To Meet Asking PriceBelgian First Division A club Standard Liege had wanted to sign Uche Agbo on a permanent basis but failed to meet Watford's asking price.

The ten-time Belgian champions swiftly announced the loan signing of the Nigeria international on Tuesday even before he underwent a medical examination, and it has come to light that he was offered a three-year deal during negotiations.

''Standard Liege wanted to sign Uche from Watford and offered him a three-year contract,'' Uche Agbo's representative told allnigeriasoccer.com.

''During negotiations, they couldn't meet Watford's asking price, the transfer fee was much, so they decided to sign him on loan.

''Standard Liege have an option to buy him at the end of the season, and Watford will insert a sell-on clause if that happens.''

The 21-year-old Uche featured 96 times for Spanish club Granada across all levels before his transfer to Standard Liege.
