Manchester United Announce New Deal For Argentina GK Who Has Faced Nigeria Three TimesManchester United have announced through their official website that Sergio Romero has penned a new contract with the club.

The Argentina international has been rewarded with a fresh four-year deal, with the option to extend for a further year, after helping the Red Devils win the Europa League last season, and qualifying for the Champions League in the process.

Jose Mourinho told manutd.com : ''Sergio is a great goalkeeper and professional.  He had a good season and outstanding performances, especially in our Europa League success. 

''Sergio deserves his contract, and for Manchester United to have Sergio and David is amazing in such an important role.''

Romero had stops at Racing Club, AZ, Sampdoria and Monaco before joining Manchester United in July 2015.

The 30-year-old has 88 senior caps for Argentina, and three of the caps were earned against Nigeria at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups and an international friendly in September 2011.
