Manchester United Play Down Talks Of Signing Paris Saint-Germain Target Neymar
Published: July 27, 2017
Speaking to reporters after Manchester United's 1-0 loss to Barcelona in the International Champions Cup, manager Jose Mourinho has played down suggestions that they are interested in signing Neymar.
There has been speculation over the future of the Brazil international in the last few days, and Paris Saint-Germain are in the driving seat for his signature if he departs the Camp Nou.
''I don’t know where Neymar will play next season. As a coach of a rival team, I can only say it’s a pleasure to watch him play,'' Mourinho stated.
"With Messi and Neymar, there is only one. There are not two. Suarez, Iniesta, Pique, Ronaldo, Bale, Modric, Toni Kroos, there is only one of them.
"So they can only play for one club and not two. We cannot have them. They belong to the clubs."
Neymar netted the winner for Barcelona in the 31st minute against Manchester United, five days after he bagged a brace against Juventus in another pre-season friendly.
