Manchester United Ready To Make Chelsea Star The Most Expensive Serbian Player In History
Published: July 30, 2017
Manchester United are close to announcing the capture of the signature of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matić, with the deal set to completed in the next few days, according to Sky Sports.
The Premier League champions have slapped a staggering £50 million asking price on the head of the Serbia international, which has scared away his other suitor Juventus.
Two things are blocking Matic's exit from Stamford Bridge even though he has agreed personal terms with Manchester United.
Chelsea and Manchester United are still haggling over performance-related bonuses, and manager Antonio Conte wants to buy another midfielder, preferably a homegrown player before selling Matic.
The former Benfica and Košice star will become the most expensive Serbian player in history if his transfer to Old Trafford goes through.
