Chelsea Dazzler Confirms Manchester United Are Interested In Signing Him
Published: August 09, 2017
Skillful Chelsea star Willian has confirmed that Manchester United made an approach to sign him this summer.
The Brazilian international has revealed that the Red Devils opened a line of communication with his intermediary, but transfer talks were not fruitful.
Willian would have reunited with the iconic former Chelsea coach Jose Mourniho if the transfer had materialized.
''There were a few conversations with my agent. I worked with Mourinho and I became his friend as well,'' Willian told goal.com.
''He likes me a lot and I like him a lot as a coach and as a person. He has put his trust in me and in my work, and I was very grateful to him.
''Manchester came to me, they talked with my agent, but nothing happened, because Chelsea would not negotiate me in any way and I’m very happy at Chelsea.''
Willian had an impressive goalscoring statistics for Chelsea in pre-season, scoring four goals in four matches, including a hat-trick in the 8-2 hammering of Fulham.
