Talented Tottenham Hotspur Nigerian Midfielder Backed To Shine At Aston Villa
Published: August 12, 2017
Tottenham Hotspur's England U20 international of Nigerian parentage Josh Onomah has been backed to shine at Aston Villa by midfielder Glenn Whelan.
Having made a couple of first-team appearances off the bench for Spurs in the Premier League, Onomah has gone out on loan to Aston Villa to gain match experience.
''I think he will be a very good player for us and I believe he can be someone who creates and scores plenty of chances for us,'' Whelan said to Aston Villa's official website.
''I am happy to encourage him. I have played a lot of games at this level and if I can pass anything on to him, I’m more than happy to.
''I have already told him not to get discouraged if things don’t come off in games, I have told him to keep going.''
Onomah, 20, has been involved in the two competitive games contested by Aston Villa in the new season.
