Ex-Manchester United Target, Dubbed The Nigerian Messi, Joins New English Club
Published: August 18, 2017
National League South outfit Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Ogo Obi on undisclosed terms.
Shortly after the young star joined The Tudors, he was handed his debut in the club's 1-0 win over Hampton & Richmond at Vauxhall Ground, when he came off the bench with ten minutes remaining.
Hailed as the Nigerian Messi in his homeland, Obi was surprisingly released by Watford at the end of last season without making a single first-team appearance.
The 19-year-old impressed while on trial at Manchester United in 2014 but the Vicarage Road outfit fended off the Red Devils interest by offering him a professional contract.
