Published: August 22, 2017
Newly-promoted Premier League club Newcastle United embarked on a scouting trip to Turkey this past weekend.
According to Turkish newspaper, Ajansspor, a Magpies representative watched three games in the Super Lig : Kasımpaşa 2-2 Beşiktaş, Osmanlıspor 1- 3 Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe 2-2 Trabzonspor last weekend.
Four Nigeria internationals featured in the three games: Eddy Onazi, Emem Eduok, Raheem Lawal and Aminu Umar.
Former Birmingham City target Eddy Onazi came on in the 63rd minute for Trabzonspor, same minute ex-Rivers United star Emem Eduok entered into the fray for Kasımpaşa, while ex-Nigeria U23 stars Lawal and Umar started for Osmanlıspor.
Mahmut Alpaslan, the guide of the Newcastle United scout, claims the talent spotter was impressed with the performances of Manchester United target Yusuf Yazıcı (Trabzonspor) and Galatasaray's Senegal international Papa Ndiaye.
Yusuf Yazıc, who has been labelled the new Mesut Ozil, was also watched by Manchester United scout Kevin Stonehouse last weekend.
