Premier League Champions Chelsea Set To Announce Fifth Summer Signing
Published: August 23, 2017
Chelsea are on the brink of announcing their fifth major summer signing, if we are to believe reports emanating from the English press.
The Stamford Bridge side have already bolstered their ranks with the capture of álvaro Morata, Tiemoué Bakayoko, Antonio Rüdiger and Willy Caballero this summer.
According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are closing in on a £30 million deal for Danny Drinkwater.
Chelsea and Leicester City are still haggling over a transfer fee, but the Premier League champions are confident they can get the deal over the line because the talented playmaker has expressed his desire to join the club.
Other players being linked with a switch to the Blues before September 1 include Inter Milan's Antonio Candreva, Southampton's Virgil van Dijk and Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
