Gent Beat Manchester United, Bayern Munich To Signing Of Talented Midfielder

Gent have won the race for the signature of talented Georgian youth-teamer Giorgi Chakvetadze, according to reports.
Het Laatste Nieuws says the Belgian First Division A club had agreed terms with Dinamo Tbilisi over the transfer of the attacking midfielder before the 2017 European U19 Championship.
Chakvetadze impressed at the European Championship, which alerted the interest of several top clubs in Europe, including Manchester United, Leverkusen, Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich.
The German champions had bid six million euros for the services of the playmaker, but it was turned down by Dinamo Tbilisi as they already had an agreement with Gent.
The 17-year-old scored against Sweden at the U19 EURO, which was staged in his homeland.
