Tammy Abraham Once Played On The Same Chelsea Youth Team As Mbappe
Published: September 07, 2017
The very promising Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham once played on the same Chelsea youth team as Monaco teen sensation Kylian Mbappé, according to various reports in the foreign press.
The electronic edition of The Telegraph says the new Paris Saint-Germain big-money signing trained with Chelsea as a talented 11-year-old and partnered Tammy Abraham in attack as the Blues U12 team thrashed Charlton Athletic 8-0 in a friendly.
''We played against Charlton, I think, and we won maybe seven or eight nil,'' Mbappe told the British newspaper.
''I also got to meet some of the first-team players – (Didier) Drogba, (Florent) Malouda – the French-speaking ones and took some pictures with them.''
Tammy Abraham joined Chelsea at U8 level and progressed through the ranks before making his first team debut against Liverpool on May 11, 2016, after coming on to replace Bertrand Traoré in the 74th minute.
Fresh from representing the Young Lions at the 2017 European U21 Championship, Abraham penned a new long-term contract with Chelsea before he was farmed out on a season-long loan to Swansea City.
