Rohr Delighted With Young Guns Iwobi & Aina, Praises Quick Moses'
Published: September 10, 2017
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr was delighted with the performance of Chelsea star Victor Moses in both World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon, and also had kind words for Chelsea loanee Ola Aina and Arsenal's Alex Iwobi.
Victor Moses and Gent winger Moses Simon caused the Indomitable Lions defense all sorts of problems with their pace and trickery, and contributed to three of the five goals scored by the Super Eagles against the African champions.
''The two Moses are wingers and they are very interesting for our game,'' Rohr told an unnamed television station, according to Score Nigeria.
''They are two real wingers and they are very quick.''
The German coach added : ''Ekong, Shehu, Tyronne and Ola Aina are doing well in defense. In midfield we have Mikel Agu and Ndidi to work with experienced players like Mikel and Onazi.
“And in attack, there is Alex Iwobi and Iheanacho, who will now have the experienced and intelligent Ighalo.''
All the aforementioned players were initially named to the Nigerian roster for the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon, but Iwobi pulled out of the squad due to an undisclosed injury.
