 Leon Balogun Hails Black Stars For Beating Nigeria & Sparks Jollof Rice Debate Mainz central defender Leon Balogun showed his sportsmanship by congratulating the Black Stars in the wake of their 4-1 thrashing of the Super Eagles in the final of the WAFU Cup on Sunday night.

And he has sparked a debate over which of the the two countries make the best Jollof rice, a rice dish popular in most West African countries, stating that Nigeria cook the best Jollof rice.

Goals from Stephen Sarfo (2), Vincent Atingah and Winnful Cobbinah secured a win for the Black Stars, while Rabiu Ali scored the pick of the goals in second half stoppage time.

Writing on Twitter, German-born Balogun stated : ''Well, what can I say. Nigeria’s lost, Ghana’s won, but our jollof’s still the no.1 😂🤙🏽 Congrats Black Stars, well deserved ✊🏽🇬🇭''.

Leon Balogun has earned 10 international caps for the Super Eagles since making his debut against Mexico in 2014.

The 29-year-old was included in the ceremonial CAF XI for match day three and four in the World Cup qualifiers.
