Akpom, Arsenal Teammates Will Not Train In Belarus Before Facing BATE
Published: September 27, 2017
Whilst Alex Iwobi's availability for tomorrow's Europa League meeting between BATE and Arsenal remains covered in mist, fellow Hale End Academy product Chuba Akpom is in contention to travel to Belarus later today.
The Nigeria international was not among the first-teamers photographed training at London Colney this morning ahead of the trip to Barysaw, fueling speculation that he won't be involved at the Borisov Arena.
Chuba Akpom was sighted being put through his paces by manager Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners will not train again upon their arrival in Minsk, Belarus on Wednesday evening, according to Pressball.
Despite suggestions linking Akpom with a departure from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, the attacker decided to remain and fight for a fight team place.
The 21-year-old was named in the match day squads against FC Cologne and Doncaster Rovers, but wasn't utilized off the bench.
