Eagles Coach Explains Why He Handed Debut To Ladapo Vs Manchester United
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has explained why he was forced to hand a Premier League debut to ex-Flying Eagles invitee Freddie Ladapo against Manchester United on Saturday.

The London club were hit by an injury crisis ahead of their visit to Old Trafford, and Hodgson has hinted that Ladapo will get more playing opportunities in future due to the lack of attacking options.

''We don’t have many options – you saw the young boy Freddie Ladapo come on for his first Premier League game after being signed from non-league a couple of years ago, and he’s never had a sniff of first-team football'' said Hodgson.

''That’s our choice at the moment or we go to the 4-6-0 system where you don’t play with a recognised centre-forward and use a midfielder. ''

Next up for Crystal Palace after the international break is a London derby against Chelsea at Selhurst Park.

On his debut for the Eagles, Freddie Ladapo was in action for sixteen minutes against the Red Devils.
