Leeds United, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia Watch Liverpool Striker Score Third League Goal
Published: October 02, 2017A number of clubs in England, Spain, France, Belgium and Germany are keeping tabs on Nigeria U23 international Taiwo Awoniyi, as per reports.
The news is being reported by Belgian journalist Tom Boudeweel, who informed on Twitter that representatives from Leeds United, Borussia Dortmund, OGC Nice, Marseille, Deportivo Alavés, Valencia, Lens, OHL and Eupen were in attendance at the Stade Le Canonnier (Mouscron) for the Belgian First Division A clash between Royal Excel Mouscron and Mechelen.
Other teams that watched the game include Brugge, Standard Liege, S.V. Zulte Waregem, Lokeren, Anderlecht, Sint-Truidense V.V and Malaga.
Mechelen have been struggling in the Belgian top-flight this season, and the most likely player the scouts came to watch is Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi, who has notched three goals for Royal Excel Mouscron in his last four matches across all competitions.
After failing to obtain a British work permit, Awoniyi is enjoying a new lease of life in Belgium and was on target in the 27th minute in his team's 2-2 draw with Mechelen.
The 20-year-old striker previously spent time on loan at FSV Frankfurt and NEC Nijmegen.
