Echiejile Resumes Full Training, Rohr Drops Hint Monaco Loanee Will Start
Published: October 04, 2017Monaco loanee Elderson Echiejile returned to training with the Super Eagles on Wednesday evening after failing to complete yesterday's workout due to an ankle injury.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the Sivasspor defender participated in all the drills, for example passing in tight spaces with a player allowed three touches on the ball and stretching.
Manager Gernot Rohr gave a hint of the prospective line-up against Zambia, with the Team A defense containing Echiejile, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong and Abdullahi Sheu during the ten-a-side game.
The four players started and went the distance in the two World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon in September, with Balogun and Ekong in the center of defense, and Echiejile and Shehu occupying the left and right back spots.
The training session ended around 1812 hours due to the unfavourable weather conditions, and the players hurried off to the coach that brought them to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
On Thursday and Friday, the training sessions will be held behind closed doors.
