Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom is not in contention to make his first Premier League appearance of the season when Arsenal host Tammy Abraham's Swansea City on Saturday, October 28.
The Hale End Academy product was not photographed training with the Gunners in their final workout at London Colney on Friday, fueling speculation that he won't be considered by manager Arsene Wenger.
Akpom won admirers for his performance in Arsenal's come from behind win over Norwich City in the League Cup on Tuesday, but he remains behind Alexis Sanchez, Alexandre Lacazette, Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud and even Alex Iwobi in the pecking order of strikers.
There is a huge likelihood that the former England U21 star will be selected in the Gunners U23s squad for their Premier League 2 clash against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi was sighted training with the first-team squad, wearing a black bib.
He was in action for 105 minutes against the Canaries earlier in the week.
