'Nigerian Neymar' Missing As Man Utd, West Brom, Huddersfield Watch Porto Stars
Published: November 06, 2017
Nigeria youth international Musa Yahaya, dubbed the Nigerian Neymar, was denied the opportunity to show off to top teams in Europe this past weekend when Porto hosted Belenenses on game week 11 in the Portuguese top-flight.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles sensation is regarded as one of the top talents at Porto but has yet to make a single first-team appearance since he joined the club in the summer of 2016.
According to Portuguese sports daily A Bola, Manchester United, West Bromwich Albion and Huddersfield Town requested for tickets to watch the match between Porto and Belenenses.
Atalanta, AEK, Alcorcón, Celta de Vigo, Eintracht Frankfurt, Inter Milan, Lech Poznan, Mónaco, Montpellier and Wolfsburg were also present at the Estádio Do Dragão on Saturday night.
Portuguese clubs were not left out with representatives from Chaves, Académica, Leixões, Marítimo, Paços de Ferreira, Tondela, V. Setúbal and Vizela seen in the stands.
Yahaya trained with Tottenham Hotspur after putting himself in the shop window at the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup but a move to White Hart Lane did not materialize when he attained the age of majority.
