Former Super Eagles Defender Michael Emenalo Steps Down From Role At ChelseaFormer Nigeria international Michael Emenalo has stepped down from his duties as Technical Director of Chelsea, according to various reports in the English press.

The Mirror says Emenalo has quit the Bridge, with a potential role at Monaco in a similar capacity set to be his next destination.

The influential personality, who was very close to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, did not have a cordial relationship with manager Antonio Conte, and it has been speculated that forced him to end his ten-year association with the Premier League champions.

Monaco are searching for a new Sporting Director following the departure of Antonio Cordon.

In a career spanning more than fifteen years, Emenalo turned out for Molenbeek, Eintracht Trier, Nots County, San Jose Clash and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The 52-year-old, who was a defender, made three appearances for the Super Eagles at the 1994 World Cup, against Argentina, Greece and Italy.
