Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi Lands In Lagos, Off To Rabat Tuesday
Published: November 06, 2017
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Chippa United netminder Daniel Akpeyi has just landed in the nation's commercial capital Lagos from Johannesburg, South Africa.
All things being equal, the Super Eagles goalkeeper will hook up with his international teammates in Rabat, Morocco on Tuesday, November 7.
On Monday, there was no available direct flight from Johannesburg to Rabat, so Akpeyi and Super Eagles officials decided it was best for the goalkeeper to arrive in Lagos before connecting another flight to the Moroccan capital tomorrow morning.
The other alternative was for Akpeyi to catch a flight from Johannesburg to Rabat via Europe but that plan was later jettisoned.
The only invited goalkeeper presently in the Super Eagles Golden Tulip Farah Hotel Rabat camp is Ikechukwu Ezenwa, but the number will increase to three by the end of Tuesday, with Deportivo de La Coruña youngster Francis Uzoho also expected.
With Ezenwa inactive for about one month, Akpeyi could be in goal in at least one of the two international matches against Algeria and Argentina.
