Aina Makes Full Debut, Iwobi & Ndidi Start As Nigeria Announce Starting XI Vs Algeria
Published: November 10, 2017
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has announced his starting line-up for Friday evening's World Cup qualifier against Algeria at Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui, starting from 2030 hours.
Based on the training sessions, Rohr had already decided two days ago to start FC Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa ahead of Daniel Akpeyi and Francis Uzoho, and he's sticking to the original plan.
The German has opted to field a back four with Abdullahi Shehu, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun and Ola Aina all starting, meaning ADO Den Hag youngster Tyronne Ebuehi can only make his competitive debut off the bench if he's considered by the coach.
Oghenekaro Etebo has gotten the nod over Uche Agbo in midfield, while John Ogu and Wilfred Ndidi also start.
Up front, the triumvirate of Alex Iwobi, Anthony Nwakaeme and Kelechi Iheaancho will start the game.
