Hoffenheim & Rohr On The Same Page: Akpoguma Outclassed Other Players In Key Stats
Published: November 21, 2017
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr admitted after watching Kevin Akpoguma on Saturday in the Bundesliga that the central defender was impressive against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Rohr was at the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena (Sinsheim) to personally monitor the former Germany U20 skipper, with a view to a possible call-up to the Nigerian national team ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
TSG Hoffenheim and Rohr are on the same page, with the club revealing that Akpoguma handled the ball the most out of all the players on the team.
''Kevin #Akpoguma had possession of the ball a whopping 114 times on Saturday - more than any other player in our game against @eintracht_eng! '' tweeted Hoffenheim.
Akpoguma's appearance against Rohr's former team was his fifth of the season in all competitions for the first team.
The central defender has racked up 64 appearances for Germany's youth teams since his debut against Cyprus on February 15, 2011.
