England Ahead Of Nigeria, Germany In Race For Prolific Man City Nmecha Brothers
Published: November 26, 2017
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that the English Football Association are in pole position to secure the international futures of highly-rated Manchester City wonderkids Lukas Nmecha and Felix Nmecha at senior level.
The Nmecha brothers were both born in Hamburg, Germany to a Nigerian father and may turn out for the two continental powerhouses if they are approached as they have no senior cap for the Three Lions.
The older Nmecha, Lukas, who is 18 years, has collected caps for the Young Lions at U16, U17 and U18 level and honed his skills at this summer's European U19 Championship before he was promoted to the U20 squad at the start of this season.
The striker would have debuted for England U20s in August but had to withdraw from the roster summoned for games against Netherlands and Switzerland due to injury.
Only yesterday, Lukas Nmecha enhanced his growing reputation as one of the top stars at City's Academy by netting a hat-trick as the U23s thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 in the Premier League 2.
He is highly thought of by manager Pep Guardiola, who named him on the bench when the first team faced Wolves in the fourth round of the League Cup a month ago.
Midfielder Felix Nmecha, who turned 17 in October, has played for England's U16 team, and is the top scorer for City's U18 team in the ongoing season with six goals to his name in all competitions.
