Published: November 26, 2017
On the final day of the regular season in the Norwegian Eliteserien, Manchester City loanee Chidiebere Nwakali helped Sogndal thrash Vålerenga 5-2 at Fosshaugane Campus on Sunday evening.
With the scoreboard reading 4-2 Sogndal, the Super Eagles hopeful scored a stunning free-kick from around 22 yards to add more gloss to the scoreline with a quarter of an hour remaining.
Tomorrow, Monday, Nwakali will discover if another of his spectacular efforts, against Molde, won the Goal of the Season Award in the Norwegian top-flight.
The former Golden Eaglets star has tallied five goals from 28 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Sogndal finished 14th in the standings and a two-legged play-off match against Ranheim will determine if they will be relegated or stay up.
Nwakali will make a decision regarding his future with Sogndal at the end of the playoff matches next Saturday.
