The Stats That Prove Victor Moses Is Improving His Defensive Qualities
Published: December 13, 2017
Super Eagles star Victor Moses was Chelsea's top player for a key defensive stat in Tuesday night's Premier League clash against Huddersfield Town.
In their statistical analysis of the 3-1 win at The John Smith's Stadium, the official website of Chelsea noted that Moses had the joint-most clearances by a Chelsea player, three in total, level with central defender Antonio Rudiger.
Whilst the number 15 makes things happen in the Super Eagles attack, he has proved his defensive qualities for Chelsea since manager Antonio Conte converted him to a right wing-back last year.
The former Wigan Athletic ace was Chelsea's top tackler against Newcastle United on December 2, along with Cesc Fabregas and N’Golo Kante, who all clocked up three each.
In his formative years, Moses played as a top striker before he was converted to a winger when he joined the youth team of Crystal Palace.
The 27-year-old has figured for the Blues in four of their last five Premier League games following his return from a hamstring injury that kept him on the sidelines for six straight weeks.
