Chelsea brushed aside Brighton & Hove 2-0 in the Boxing Day Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge, with Victor Moses dazzling for the champions.
Antonio Conte's side started the game on the ascendancy, controlling the larger swathe of possession with Eden Hazard blasting wide after dancing through a sea of black shirts before Brighton goalkeeper Ryan stopped Moses from scoring at the near post after Cesc Fabregas had picked him out in the box with a lofted pass.
Fabregas failed to hit the target before Moses's header went inches over as the retreating Seagulls sat back and soaked up pressure.
The visitors were finally undone by an Alvaro Morata's header immediately after the break, the Spanish striker getting onto the end of a Cesar Azpilicueta's cross to guide a sensational header in.
Marcos Alonso doubled Chelsea advantage with another superb header, glancing past an onrushing Ryan after Fabregas had teed him up from a corner kick on the hour mark.
Tiemoue Bakayoko missed from close range after Hazard had spun round the Brighton goaltender to set him up before Gross floating header fizzled inches wide of Thibaut Courtois goal in the dying stages.
Victor Moses who was very instrumental to the victory was in action for the entire duration of the game on his 100th appearance for Chelsea in all competitions.
