Ex-Nigeria Schoolboy Dennis & Uduokhai Named Among Top 50 Young Talents By UEFA
Published: January 06, 2018
Two players of Nigerian descent Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis and Felix Uduokhai have been named in UEFA.com's 50 young players who could be big news by the end of 2018.
UEFA's staff across the continent selected the top fifty youngsters based on their performances for their respective clubs in the current season.
''A #UEL regular with Zorya Luhansk in 2016/17, the forward is scoring more regularly since moving to Belgium – six goals in 16 league games,'' UEFA.com explained why Club Brugge frontman Uduokhai was picked.
Germany youth-teamer Felix Uduokhai, who is believed to be on the radar of the Nigerian Federation ahead of the 2018 World Cup, has caught the eye in the German top-flight this season, scoring three goals from his defensive position in all competitions.
''Rescued from ailing 1860 München, the centre-back has been a revelation in the Bundesliga in the autumn.''
Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), Abel Ruiz (Barcelona), Malcom (Bordeaux), Justin Kluivert (Ajax), Phil Foden (Manchester City) and Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina) were included in the list of players who will be household names in 2019.
