Moses-Less Chelsea Held To Draw By Well-Organized Norwich City
Published: January 06, 2018
Chelsea were forced to make due with a replay after a goalless draw with a well organised Norwich City in their third round of the Emirates FA Cup clash at Carrow Road on Saturday evening.
Super Eagles winger Victor Moses was left out of the Blues squad to face the Canaries for this one.
Both sides created very little in terms of chances in a tepid first half showing, with Joshua Murphy and Alex Pritchard having efforts blocked off for Norwich while Kennedy went close at the other end for the visitors.
The second period continued in notably dour fashion with Norwich goalkeeper Gunn required to go down and deny Willian before holding on well to a Danny Drinkwater's 25 yards drive.
Davide Zappacosta and Charlie Musonda all had half-chances to secure the win but Antonio Conte's side would now prepare to welcome their opponents to Stamford Bridge.
