Conte Reacts To Transfer Of Coutinho To Barcelona, Has Bad News For Liverpool
Published: January 07, 2018
Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has reacted to the transfer of one of the most important players in the ranks of Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, for an initial fee of 120 million euros.
The Italian manager is convinced that the departure of the Brazil international to La Liga will squander The Reds' chances of finishing in one of the top four positions in the English Premier League this season.
Despite speculation surrounding the future of the ex-Inter Milan wonderkid since the start of this season, he was directly involved in 21 goals (12 goals, 9 assists) in 20 matches before he bid farewell to Liverpool.
''You’re talking about a good player. With this price, it’s very difficult to compete with this price,'' Conte told reporters on Saturday.
''For sure losing him will impact Liverpool in the Premier League.''
Liverpool currently occupy the fourth position in the Premier League standings after 22 matches.
