Published: January 14, 2018
Ike Ugbo was in scintillating form for the Chelsea U23s in their 5-0 win over Sunderland U23s in the English Premier
League 2, scoring once and setting up another at Eppleton Colliery Football Ground on Sunday.
The 19-year old put in an inspiring display for the young blues, reacting quickest to turn home a rebound from St Clair's 25 yards effort with barely two minutes played.
Callum Hudson-Odoi added another 19 minutes later, jinking into space to space to beat Sunderland goalkeeper, Michael Woud with a left-footed drive.
Ugbo then turned provider for Chelsea's third of the afternoon, teeing up Ethan Ampadu for a smart finish in the 33rd minute before going close for himself again three minutes before the break.
Hudson-Odoi added a stunning second a minute shy of the hour mark following an assist from Kylian Hazard before completing his treble from the spot 17 minutes from time after Juan Familio-Castillo was felled in the area.
Joel Asoro and Joshua Maja featured for Sunderland's first team against Cardiff on Saturday and were omitted from the young Black Cats squad for the encounter.
