Nigerian Midfielder Discovered By Mourinho Signs One-Year Deal With Landskrona BoIS
Published: January 16, 2018
Newly promoted Swedish Superettan side Landskrona BoIS have pulled off a transfer coup with the signing of former Nigeria U23 invitee Monday Samuel.
The duration and financial terms of the contract were not disclosed by Landskrona BoIS but allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Samuel has penned a one-year deal, with an option for an additional season.
Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho personally scouted Monday Samuel while he was representing Kwara Football Academy and recommended him to Benfica.
''Mourinho made sure I ended up in Benfica's youth academy and it was a great experience,'' Monday Samuel told Landskrona BoIS's official website.
''Portugal has one of the best education programs for young players in Europe by far if we look at teams such as Benfica, Porto and Sporting Lisbon.''
Samuel has turned out for ängelholms FF, östersunds FK and Helsingborgs IF in Sweden.
