Nigeria To Open World Cup Camp On May 22 Ahead of Trip To Wembley

The Super Eagles will open camp on May 22 in Abuja in preparations for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Nigeria Football Federation supremo Amaju Pinnick has disclosed.
The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed that the Super Eagles will take on Congo on May 28, then the next day they leave to London where they will be playing against the English national team in Wembley on the 2nd of June.
Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, Elderson Echiejile, Ogenekaro Etebo, Francis Uzoho, Leon Balogun and John Obi Mikel are some of the players expected to be named to the Super Eagles provisional roster for the World Cup.
The Premier League will conclude this season on Sunday, May 13, a day after the final round in the Bundesliga, while the Portuguese Primeira Liga and Turkish Super Lig finishes on May 13 and 19 respectively, so most of the key players in the Nigeria squad have no excuse not to report to camp early.
Including the friendly against Argentina on November 14, the Super Eagles would have played six warmup matches before stepping out onto the Kaliningrad Stadium turf to face Croatia in their first game in the mundial.
Nigeria will also trade tackles with Argentina and Iceland at the 2018 World Cup.
