Iheanacho Earns Praises From Leicester Boss After Tallying 9 Goals In 9 FA Cup Games
Published: January 27, 2018
Leicester City manager Claude Puel was full of praise for Kelechi Iheanacho post-match after his team's 5-1 rout of Peterborough United in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The Nigeria international was one of the young stars picked out for special praise after scoring a first-half brace to take his tally in the FA Cup to nine goals from nine appearances.
''I’m happy because we mixed a team of experience and young players. They all gave a good response on the pitch. We had some fantastic moves and goals. That’s important for the future,'' Puel was quoted as saying by BBC Leicester.
''It’s important to start how we did. It’s difficult to play against these teams, but it can be difficult to adapt for a young player. But they had a good attitude and played very well.
''Diabate, Barnes, Iheanacho and Gray are all young players and they’re all valuable players for the future. ''
Iheaancho and Leicester City will discover their next opponents in the Emirates FA Cup when the fifth round draw takes place on Monday, January 29.
