Ex-Nigeria Star Makes First Signing For Monaco, Beats Chelsea & Man Utd To Italian WhizkidRetired Nigeria international Michael Emenalo has made his first signing since he was appointed sporting director of Ligue 1 outfit Monaco, with the club confirming the capture of Pietro Pellegri from Genoa for £22 million.

Emenalo resigned from his position as Chelsea's technical director in November 2017, before he took over a similar role at Monaco three weeks later.

The 1994 World Cup star is responsible for all sporting matters at Monaco and definitely had a say before the club recruited Pietro Pellegri.

According to The Sun, Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus were amongst the teams interested in signing the 16-year-old before he was convinced to move to the Principality outfit.

The talented striker is the youngest player to debut in the Italian Serie A and is the first player born in 2001 to score in the league.

During Emenalo's time with Chelsea, he oversaw the arrivals of Super Eagles stars Victor Moses and Kenneth Omeruo, and attempted to sign ex-Golden Eaglets sensation Isaac Success.

In his ten years at Chelsea, they won three Premier League titles, three FA Cups, one League Cup , the Europa and Champions League.
